ABOUT THE EVENT

LEGACY OF SCHOLARS GOLF CLASSIC PURPOSE

The Legacy of Scholars Golf Classic is an annual golf tournament experience and networking event presented by the ZAL Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The event’s purpose is to raise funds to directly support scholarship awards for high school students in Broward County, Florida, in particular the Men of Tomorrow (MOT) program.

We strive to continue developing a “Legacy of Scholars” and the building of better young men, leaders, and influencers for our tomorrow.

The Men of Tomorrow program was established in 1978 to promote the development and success of young African American men by emphasizing the importance of high school and college graduation, given that school completion is the single best predictor of future economic success.

This program affords these mentees the opportunity to participate in several critical youth developmental activities. Organized program workshop sessions addressing various topics related to college preparation, social development, responsible decision making, and financial literacy are the core elements of for the program.

The ZAL Foundation, a mature nonprofit entity established in 1998, has awarded scholarships annually for over forty years to graduating high school seniors that are attending universities and colleges and/or vocational school. These scholarship awards have funded tuition, fees, campus boarding expenses.

Through the support of our corporate partners, community partners and volunteers, we have been extremely fortunate to create meaningful impact on the Broward County community.

We are grateful for your previous and continued support of our endeavors. Thank you in advance for your upcoming support of the 2024 Legacy of Scholars Golf Classic.
